Steve Bishop
Founder & Managing Partner
Steve spent nine years at Goldman Sachs before embarking on a long career in non-profit management and fundraising. He has been investing in crypto full time since 2018. He is passionate about educating people about cryptocurrency and helping them take control of the financial futures.
Jennifer Yasin, MD, MSc
Managing Partner
Jen is a former Fulbright Scholar and White House Young Global Entrepreneur who has been in the crypto space since 2016. Although she trained as a physician, after designing and launching an international mobile health app, she decided to leave clinical medicine to pursue her passion in emerging technology, focusing on women-led projects and social impact.
Kate Stratten, MSW
Partner
Kate is a public health professional with over 20 years of experience managing multi-million dollar global projects focused on providing accessible and affordable health services. She has invested in crypto since 2018 and believes that blockchain technology has the potential to empower people globally–especially women and those in emerging economies–through a decentralized financial system.
Lila Cruikshank, MBA
Partner
Lila holds an MBA from Duke and has spent her career in global health, implementing large-scale projects internationally and consulting with global social enterprises and non-profits such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. She has been investing in crypto since 2020 and is excited about cryptocurrency as a tool for social impact and economic justice.
Cathryn McCune
Partner
Cathryn’s passion and curiosity in crypto is an offshoot of her career in software sales and management. She has been invested in crypto for two years. She hopes to build a community of support for women in technology and sees crypto as a tool that can maximize agency and give people control over their finances.
Our Story
NewCompassCrypto was founded in January 2022 by a group of five like-minded individuals from very different backgrounds. The team, which is led by former Goldman Sachs investment banker Steve Bishop, includes a medical doctor, two global health professionals, and a software manager. They came together to make investing in cryptocurrency more accessible to people who were curious about blockchain technology and decentralized finance but didn’t know where to start.
We offer a safe space for both new and seasoned investors to learn about and get practical advice for investing a part of their portfolio into cryptocurrency. NewCompassCrypto does not manage money and we are not licensed to offer financial services. Using a subscription model we provide services aimed at building a foundational understanding of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology, learning the basics of different investment strategies, provide how-to-guides for buying /trading/safely storing cryptocurrency, and in-depth research reports and analysis of different cryptocurrencies as well as comprehensive trading analysis.
Over 75% of money managers now recommend a minimum of 5% total portfolio exposure in cryptocurrencies and 30% recommend a 10% exposure. NewCompassCrypto was formed to be a trusted source of education and guidance in the crypto space. We offer independent analysis and conduct our own research to help people make informed decisions.
